A new collaboration leveraging advanced technology and digital tools will enhance the organization’s ability to work more structurally and through a knowledge-based approach to climate accounting, sustainability reporting, and systematic supplier follow-up.
Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) has long been dedicated to climate and environmental goals, both in its internal operations and throughout its programs. As a key player in the humanitarian sector, the organization holds a clear responsibility to minimize negative environmental impacts and ensure responsible practices across its entire value chain.
The partnership with Energi.AI will strengthen NPA’s efforts regarding traceability, analysis, and compliance with the Norwegian Transparency Act. By adopting digital solutions that facilitate the analysis and consolidation of climate data, existing work processes will be further refined. This enables a more targeted focus on both climate action and supplier monitoring.
The solution automates climate data analysis and facilitates a more structured execution of the organization’s due diligence processes. This strengthens the ability to gain a holistic overview of the organization’s total footprint and value chain, providing a more robust foundation for continuous improvement.
“To remain relevant in addressing future challenges, we must work with greater focus, knowledge, and efficiency. This requires us to be innovative and adopt new tools, such as artificial intelligence, in a responsible manner. This collaboration with Energi.AI strengthens our sustainability efforts, making them more focused, efficient, and manageable. It allows us to direct time and resources where they truly matter—taking full responsibility for our impact on the climate, the environment, and social justice,” says Raymond Johansen, Secretary General of Norwegian People’s Aid.
“To succeed in reducing our carbon footprint and managing value chain risks, we depend on effective systems and a solid knowledge base. The partnership with Energi.AI provides us with the right conditions to work more structurally and purposefully with climate, environment, and responsible operations. These tools will free up capacity, allowing more time for concrete improvements and strategic follow-up—while ensuring that humans continue to make the final decisions regarding content and priorities,” says Knut André Vold, Sustainability Advisor at Norwegian People’s Aid.
The multi-year agreement features a unique exchange: Energi.AI has “hired” an operational mine detection dog in Ukraine, while Norwegian People’s Aid gains access to the AI platform necessary to democratize sustainability insights.
With Energi.AI also having employees in Ukraine, the sponsorship of an operational mine dog is more than just a distant act of solidarity; it is a commitment that directly impacts their own organization, colleagues, and local community.
“We believe in partnerships that go beyond traditional support. This collaboration is built on shared values, long-term commitment, and responsibility. For us, it is vital that sustainability work is not just about reporting, but about creating a real-world impact,” says Hanne Ek, CFO and Co-founder of Energi.AI.
