Energi.AI is strengthening its board with international expertise in energy transition, technology, and sustainability. Christer Tryggestad, Senior Partner Emeritus at McKinsey & Company and former head of McKinsey’s Energy & Materials practice in Europe, has been appointed as the new Chair.
The new board will support the company’s next growth phase, with particular focus on continued expansion in the Nordics and the US.
“We see a market changing rapidly, where organizations need better insight to navigate both regulatory requirements and strategic decisions related to energy, climate, and resource use. With this board, we gain the experience, network, and perspectives to help us take the next step in Norway and internationally,” says Anders H. Lier, CEO and founder of Energi.AI.
The new board composition follows Energi.AI’s acquisition of CEMAsys earlier this year. The transaction has strengthened the company’s position in the Nordics and expanded its customer base to more than 600 customer accounts globally. Energi.AI continues to see strong demand for automated sustainability data solutions across its priority markets.
“The transaction has given us significantly greater scale, broader industry coverage, and an even stronger foundation for further growth. Now we’re building the board for the next phase. With Christer as Chair and strong profiles from both Europe and the US, we have the experience we need to scale the business,” says Lier.
Chose Energi.AI because of the market shift
For Christer Tryggestad, the combination of technology, market development, and the company’s ambitions was decisive in taking on the Chair role.
“Many organizations are facing a fundamental shift in how they work with energy, climate, and resource use. Those who succeed will be the ones who can turn large volumes of data into better decisions. Energi.AI has developed technology that addresses precisely this challenge, and the company has demonstrated both innovation and commercial execution. That makes this an exciting company to join at this stage,” says Tryggestad.
An international board
The new board combines experience from energy, asset management, technology, audit, and healthcare, with members from Norway, the UK, and the US.
